ULTRA EASY CEILING MURALS????

OK, I just had the most interesting thought!

I've told you in past posts about doing your ceiling mural on canvas first then applying it to the ceiling with spray adhesive.

But how about an even easier way to create beautiful ceiling murals?

Why couldn't all the stenciled ceiling mural elements be done on canvas or inexpensive, bleached muslin, then cut out with scissors and applied over your pre-painted sky mural?

Wouldn't that be a MUCH easier way to create the mural you have always wanted?

Certainly they would be easier to apply and position and might even give you a more dimensional look. It would also be very cost effective in that you could stencil many elements on to one inexpensive sheet of rolled canvas or material.

For you pros, I can't think of an easier, quicker way to get in and out of a ceiling mural job with less neck and back strain and let time involved in the project.

For you home owners who are a bit skiddish about doing an entire ceiling; Let's say that you didn't want to tackle such a big project but still desire a ceiling mural.
How about just faintly painting one corner of the ceiling in pale blue (to mimic the sky) and let it softly transition in to your white ceiling color by gently wiping the edges of the painted area until you have blended it with the ceiling color.

Then in just the corner, add one or two stenciled ceiling elements such as our
Ceiling Balustrade Stencil and Ceiling Urn Stencil

This would be especially grand in a small bath or bedroom, because the elements would seem quite large in a small room.

For apartment dwellers, or those in rental homes, you could do this without glue! do it on muslin, cut the pieces out after they have dried, apply liquid fabric starch to the back (quite liberally!), then stick them to the ceiling and let them dry. To remove them, simply peel back and wha la! They are gone and ready to take to your new home.

Now I'm excited to give it a whirl and give this a try for myself!
