The Feel Good Way to Get Through The Holidays in a Bad Economy
We're all feeling it; the woes of the economy and now the holidays are upon us. But there are ways to feel good without spending a dime.
When it seems that things just aren't going right, I have a little trick that makes me somehow feel that things aren't quite so bad. It's an instant lift to my spirits!
First, I re-arrange my furniture to give my home a bit of a different look. Move paintings, tables, rugs. Somehow, suddenly my home takes on a different "feel". Maybe a simple step as painting a room a new, beautiful color does the trick.
Next, I use my fine china and crystal, linen napkins and silver candle holders every single day. I set the table for dinner as if I'm expecting company, and drink my coffee from grandma's delicate tea cups.
Lastly, I put away my casual clothes and each day wear semi-formal clothes. Nice skirts and dresses, my really good slacks and that white frilly blouse that I love so much. I dress as if life were grand! Donned in my good jewelry and heels makes me feel terrific and my attitude uplifted.
It's remembering that despite a poor economy that there are still wonderful things in our lives that give us a reality check of sorts. So treat yourself to what you already own.... use those beautiful items to brighten your average day instead of allowing them to stay hidden in the cupboard or closet.
You deserve it!
