Pastel Wall Treatment You Will Love!

If you love pastels, this wall treatment is for you!

Visit the VictoriaLarsen.com website for fabulous decorating ideas, raised plaster stencils, ornamental wall and ceiling molds and mural stencils to have you creating the home of your dreams in no time!

I love the softness of pastels. And I love interesting wall treatments! So give this one a try:
Paint the wall medium cream color (off white). Try Gliddens "Shell White".
Using a 3" wide, natural bristle paint brush, create strokes of pale pink, pale lavender, pale yellow, pale green and pale blue in criss cross patterns crossing one another all over the entire wall.

Dip only the tips of the bristles in to the paint color then wipe off the excess on to newspaper before you begin. Each time you create a stoke, use an old, dry cloth to blend the edges just a little so that you have no harsh lines.

I begin with one color and randomly place brush stokes on the wall that are about 8-10" long. I do both vertical and horizontal lines.
I use the next color and do the same until I have applied all colors in the same manner making sure that I am leaving some of the base cream color of the wall showing through.

With each color, I stroke in the opposite direction of the previous color. Meaning, as I stroke on a new color (say it is blue) over the top of a stroke of pink, I go in the opposite direction.

This creates cross hatched strokes of color that are just beautiful and very cheery! As an added show of glamor, lastly add a few stokes of pure metallic gold just here and there for further interest.
